Luang Prabang : The Unseen

IMG_8672

Unaware of my surroundings 90% of the time, I might come off as ‘arrogant’ more often than not. Truth is, I am living in my own world too much for my own good. It got so alarming to a point where Melody, an ex-colleague of mine, told me that I looked her right in the eyes and just walked away! As a result, she was afraid to say hi; fearing that I may have forgotten her. Truth is, I really did not ‘see’ her.

The same tends to worsen when I am traveling. Luckily, I wouldn’t know anyone. There is a danger in living too much in your own head when abroad. i.e. You become less alert of pick pocketsLess extremely, I’ve lost a lot of priceless moments as they flashed by without me noticing.

It didn’t take me long to realize that whenever I am holding my DSLR, I naturally become more switched on – as if I am hold responsible of capturing as many beautiful details that are busy shying away as I can. With that, I trained myself to look at places I usually won’t look and to see things from different angles. I must say, it really helps.

Here are some unpublished pictures of Luang Prabang captured from my eyes. Just me, my faithful camera, and a hidden agenda to discover hidden beauty – deeper.
