Long River Walks, Hot Mulled Cider and Berlin’s Oldest Brewery.
If you have an extra day in Berlin, would love to take a break from the city but haven’t got enough time for a road trip or simply couldn’t be arsed to rent a car (it happens), Köpenick is just an hour train ride away. Be prepared for a lot of walking while you’re there, as it is the best way to explore this cosy ol’ town. From Altstadt Köpenick, stroll along the river bank and pick a few crocuses. Sneak into one of the hidden cafés tucked away in shy, mysterious alleys and sip on homemade cider. Breathe. Walk pass quiet neighbourhoods and ponder the stories each window will tell, if you so dare ask. Hop on a tram and head towards Berliner Bürgerbräu, once Berlin’s oldest brewery for a beer break. Have a romantic dinner while at it even if you’re alone because you can and you’ll know why once you get there. Tis’ the place for laid-back souls who live in clouds above their heads.
