There are many markets sprawled across the state of Thailand but this weekend market, famously known as Chatuchak, is THE ultimate one housing everything essential for shopaholics – delicious street food, cheap but good cognacs, clothes (i highly doubt if i should mention this obvious), paintings and handmade souvenirs, on top of providing each visitor an impeccable shopping experience with a flock of amusing people from all walks of life; just like the Crocodile Man i’ll introduce you in a minute. Typically, the best day to start the day is with a cup of good coffee and that’s exactly what we did:
{inviting bright yellow smiley chair that silently shouts “sit on me now!”}
{Ai Rene and Cherry waiting for their perfect cup. we decided to “go separate ways” here as i’m not too much of a coffee person}
{more coffee and donuts huts}
{profoundly positive that yours truly will find scrumptious local food instead…}
{…and had both bowls shown above all by myself}
{girls usually go crazy when it comes to this part of shopping. can you spot my boutique???}
{e.g. of some local fashion accessories; which i find a bit old fashioned hence bought none}
{this man believes that he is a crocodile – look at his face. it costs RM5 just to take a snap of him but it was only after i took this when i figured that out – lucky he can’t do transformations like Dr. Curt Connors, but then again you’ll never know}
{real crocodile heads he chopped off to sell every weekend}
{getting lost with the crowd, in the crowd}
{a body-written-stories}
{to be honest, all i ended up buying was a Chaang beer singlet, a Calsberg singlet and a Starbucks singlet, finished exploring the market in a matter of half the time my girls used, and found myself sitting in a rustic bar packed with foreigners instead}
{below are the results of my attempts in capturing shots of people vs expression and relationship (for the very first time)}
{the dragon chicken man}
{happy gay couple}
{the angry husband}
{male BFFs}
{girls rejoiced + made new German friends}
