If you’ve never been to Thailand, the 9 wat (temples) located in the historic centre of Bangkok, is a downright MUST. You can either spend 1 whole day visiting all the wats (what tourists usually do), or be selective in choosing the ones that suit your wishes. The temples are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily so be sure to start early if you’re planning to go with the first option.
The one we girls paid visit to was Wat Pho, which comes with the motto: Calmness is Happiness. Also, don’t forget to visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha located in one of the Grand Palace quarters just around the corner. Our tut tut conductor said “you no visit Thailand if you no see the jade buddha!“. We missed it and now i wish horribly to go back there just to get a glimpse of that beauty.
i hope you enjoy viewing my photo diary of a pretty historical Day Two spent at Bangkok. Below you’ll find the names and mottos for the other 8 wats for your (perhaps) future perusal.
