Laos Food Guide

Lao food turns out to be surprisingly: healthy. Rather than imprinting an unforgettable gastronomic experience (i.e. a tom yum that puts you on fire from A to Z) , this friendly cuisine leaves an impression that lingers in your memory for longer than you’d imagine.

1. Breakfast: Nosh along Mekong river (Luang Prabang)

Opposite the sleepy river bank where guesthouses mushroomed, sprawl rows of café-like restaurants idling under shades of big white umbrellas. The river might look like teh tarik, but rest assured it doesn’t stink.

3. Tea time: Indulge in the best croissants like a French lady (Vientiane) 

Le Banneton is a chain of bakery café available at both Vientiane and Luang Prabang, and to state the obvious; famous for their croissants. I think it’s safe to say you’ve not been to Laos if you have not eaten here; though I find the food so-so (except for the croissants).
