i’ve always wanted to visit Cambodia but my interest lies heavily in Siem Reap, not its capital, Phnom Penh. i had been dreaming to experience it so badly, and luckily it is a dream easy to achieve. The hardest part was to convince, as speaking from experience – people would rather save the little money they have for a trip to a bigger country like Japan. But you know what, it’s incomparable.
i managed to get Oli on board. My friendship with Oli is as old as 8 years today. To the minority who believe that friendship between men and women don’t exist; let’s just say that i used to doubt that too, until time and true friendship proved otherwise. Here is the first part of our 3 days 2 nights happy adventure!
{caught an early plane and chased after the morning moon}
{airport mischief}
{DON’T forget to get hello Travel SIM pack at the airport (because it’d be hard to find one outside). hello is super affordable and reliable}
{TAXI!}
{lake field of neon pink water lilies}
{excitement with a whisk of happiness, a medley so pure}
{i wondered if this river could get any browner / if a brown lake could look any nicer}
{cruised along the river by foot into the city. check out Chic Travelista fashion post here}
{you read it – National beer, national pride}
{Oli’s banana leaf vegetable soup}
{my bowl of Khmer curry}
{my sometimes mental idea of paradise}
{Must Visit #1 : Old Market}
{bought Life of Pi for only RM10!}
{the one thing i regretted not buying}
{souvenir shopping}
{read about my Happy (weed) Pizza experience here}
{“It is Funny & Happy” . . . This line made us cracked out so hard i thought our stomach almost split at the sides (or perhaps it’s the pizza)}
Rest assured, you can always rely on me to give you a good and cheap massage recommendation when on the road.
Must Visit #2: Lemongrass Garden is a lovely little spa place offering 60 minutes Khmer massages for $10, while 90 minutes Khmer massages only costs at a humble $15.
Address: 7 Sivatha Boulevard, Siem Reap, Cambodia, ☎ +855 12 387 385
{how i felt after the Khmer massage; a fresh blossoming flower}
{party trucks carrying bright boards and big speakers pumping you up for the night (already)}
{Must Visit #3: Angkor National Museum}
{as usual, not many pictures can be taken while in a museum}
{so i took pictures of me}
This ends our first part of Cambodia (during the day). Next up is what you can expect and do when the dark approaches.
To be continued . . .
