Writing about Germany in Spain feels as out-of-place as it sounds. The delightful spring i awfully expected turned out to be winter – at the end of April. No snow, but 5 freezing degrees! One of the less obvious results to that (besides having to search for the impossible winter jacket amongst the seducing Spring / Summer 2013 Collections), is ironically missing Berlin just because. Hence writing about it seems like the most righteous thing to do right now at 5 a.m. at rainy Madrid. Here we go, traveling back to Berlin:
i read on TripAdvisor, that one of the must-do activities in this city includes taking a picture in a photo booth. Being a loyal, trusty fan of the free source, i insisted Leo that we have to search for one or i won’t board the train. Lucky i saw one at the train station itself or i wouldn’t have been able to board the train into the city. Much to my disappointed surprise, instead of having 4 quirky poses and a ‘pen’ to decorate our shot(s) like Japanese girls, we got only 1 passport shot x 4 pcs. It was one of those moments when you’re unsure as to cry or laugh, but “at least we did it” was the best way i found to console myself.
{a walk along the outlines of Berlin’s museum park}
There were many unforgettable experiences recorded in Germany, but the most painful moment was having to queue along this ticketing line into Neues Museum; which then continued at the opposite side of this disaster, changing its status to: entrance line. i swear that standing in this bitter cold for hours was so torturous i had to erase my memory of it; i can’t remember how long we suffered anymore. It literally felt like concentration camp all over again, but this time with me role playing as a victim.
{half naked statues to keep me entertained}
{of mummies (and me becoming the most beautiful one thanks to the weather’s advanced technology of freezing live bodies}
{language for Croods’s – the movie that made me cry which then almost made Leo cry who then laughed hard at me -_-}
{observing the original carvings so beautiful they made me believe the queue was half worthy}
{doner for dinner}
{another queue, this time to the Berlin Observation Tower; which failed us without notice here}
{the view that made up for half the queue time of 2 – 4 hours??? as you can see, i have no ability to remember such pain)}
{and i made friend with a new piece of cold wall}
