A Romantic Beach Staycation to Remember for A Lifetime.

If you often feel like you need a break right after a holiday, consider this: As important as it is to trot as much of the globe in our lifetime, it is equally as important to slow down, immerse in tranquillisation and pull ourselves together. After all, life is about balance. To celebrate an upcoming special occasion or the next long weekend (Malaysians have 4 days off from 28th April to 1st May 2018!), try indulging in a luxurious getaway with loved ones.

For my 31st, I went on a weekend birthday staycation to Pangkor Laut Resort with É. I always thought that there’s only one island at Pangkor, and was surprised to learn that Pangkor Laut and Pangkor Island are two different islands! Those who watched this video asked if it is complicated to get there – it is easy breezy. Being the amazing establishment that is YTL Hotels, one can choose a ‘pakej Pangkor’ including return land transfers (pickup + drop off from wherever you are in Malaysia) and return scheduled speedboat transfers (only a 15 min ride to Pangkor Laut).

Here is my Pangkor Laut Resort review plus suggested itinerary on how to spend 3 amazing days at Pangkor Laut Resort.

Late Lunch at Royal Bay Beach Club

After checking in, relax and unwind on the beach club terrace overlooking the infinity pool while enjoying Asian / International favourites for lunch. In the evening, the restaurant transforms into a chic chill-out lounge serving cocktails and other beverages.

6.30 p.m. Sunset Cruise

Make the evening even more memorable by starting out with refreshing beverages at sea on board a teakwood Oriental junk. Admire the island from the sea, bathed in golden hues of the setting sun. Meet at the jetty at 6.15 p.m.

Dinner at Uncle Lim’s Kitchen

This interestingly designed restaurant is built atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. Named after the chef who has been with the resort since its inception, Uncle Lim’s specializes in Nyonya and Hockchew Chinese-style home cooking.

3-tiered breakfast

Start your morning with breakfast on the beach! We were greatly surprised by an exclusive breakfast set-up by the beach just for the two of us.

Tree Planting Ceremony

Plant a sea apple tree at Emerald Bay. Every tree comes with a GPS tracker, which means you can always check with the resort the progress of your tree, or even visit it again someday. Then, explore the island’s lush rainforest on a private guided jungle walk to the Spa Village with a Resident Naturalist.

Signature Spa Experience – Raja Sehari

Be transported to a world of pure romance as a King and Queen of the day. After the signature Bath House Ritual, be pampered with a 3-hour Couples Spa Experience; a series of royal body treatments in the exclusive Belian Spa Pavilion (complete with an outdoor whirlpool, nap gazebo and steam room). As dusk falls, imbibe some bubbly as you soak in your flower bath.   Dinner at Fisherman’s Cove Enjoy a seafood dinner here or a private Malay themed dinner at The Straits restaurant. Again, we found ourselves under twinkling fairy lights at the cove, another special set-up made to remember.
