Macau Travel Guide

To travel Macau in a nutshell, one would require 2 days. It might sound too little, but have my word that two is just nice. To experience a vacation though, of course one could benefit from more.

My cousin and I went with the first option and we must say that it was a wise one. Reason being it was raining 70% of the time we were there! – except for the time we retired to our hotel rooms at night.

We strongly believe though, that one can definitely make the best out of any situation especially when one has a plan. A good plan. This post is a travel guide disguised as a photo diary (or vice versa), packed with Macau’s best and must-visit places; regardless what tricks the weather wants to play.

1. Ruins of St. Paul’s.

This truly reminds me of A Famosa though this one, is a more loved and well-kept fort, obviously. Walk pass the gates for a short and sweet trip through its tiny museum:

2. St. Dominic’s Church

3. Senado Square

A place where Eastern meets Western, this ‘plaza‘ makes you wonder whether you are in Hong Kong or Granada every 5 minutes.  Feast your eyes, mouth, and soul with everything it has to offer as you walk through the quaint streets of this square. Rain aside, it is one of my favorite parts of our trip.

Now that you’ve traveled with me virtually from day to night, there’s one last place you must see:

4. Macau Tower

Coming from a country where the Petronas Towers stand grand, I must say that it involved me some effort trying to admire this skyscraper sincerely. Though our country seems to have a strange habit of making herself famous with unexpected headlines, I must confess that I have an undying love for the twin towers. Whenever I look at them, they always give me a reason to be proud of being anak Malaysia.
