Songket

This is the most special fashion post on teycindy.com yet! i was invited to a raya open house past raya and since the invitation came pretty last minute, i had absolutely NO idea where to find a pair of traditional wear for the cultural occasion. Of course i could’ve worn a dress etc, but since we only celebrate aidilfitri once a year, i was really in the mood to dress up for my first ever raya open house. 😀

Thank God for the existence of Fashion Valet, an online boutique owned by the sweetest, most humble blogger i know. This chic site carries Asia’s most sought-after brands; be it home-grown or designer label, offering pieces that range from affordable to dear, modern to traditional. i picked this fun and trendy boutique kebaya set (in bed!); featuring a sheer long sleeve kebaya top which can be worn as a lightweight cardigan, and a songket pareo. Basically all you have to do is “click – to your door” instead of finding kain, getting your measurements taken, and going through all the hassles of dealing with sometimes unreliable tailors who “curi your kain” as my dear friend Ain puts it.

My colleague / friend Sarah was very helpful (and even enthusiastic) about taking these lovely pictures for me, so kudos to the lovely girl! We hope you enjoy this post as much as we do. <3
