Jesselton Point

As i edit the pictures seen in this post, i realized how much i envy the me that was on holiday. Cool shades, sandy flip flops, denim shorts and bikini on top… simply anything beachy is better than a boring old desktop glaring back at you killing your eyesight. There is an unforgettable highlight in contrast to our calm and composed vacation though – an incredible experience i’ve recorded in video form included few “blog-yards” below. Also included: Exclusive tips on how to survive or upgrade your KK island getaways.

If you’ve never been to KK, here are some tips a local friend gave me that you might find useful. It is advisable that you go to the places i’ve emphasized in bold, as there are many con boat people who will approach and offer cheap deals.

Jesselton Point (name of jetty to inform taxi to go)
– go to Counter 2: Beach Bums Borneo
– pay RM17 per person for Manukan Island return
– pay RM7.20 per person for Terminal Fee at another counter
– pay RM3 per person for Island Entrance Fee at Island

There are a few islands at KK and below is how my buddy, Azmann puts it. Can you guess which island we choose in the end? 8)

Pulau Mamutik – for sunbathing as it has not much crowd

Pulau Manukan – for lunch as it has good food for lunch

Pulau Gaya – no beach just a five star resort for accommodation only

Pulau Sapi – too many tourists from China, Korea, India, etc and very crowded with little space to move around

Pulau Sulug – have to swim 10 minutes from the boat to the island as there is no boat jetty and there are mostly divers in that area – not advisable to be on your own.

And here is the video i’ve been telling you about. It was much more fun than any roller coaster rides out there. i swear i thought someone would fly out of the boat!
