Everything I Wore During Summer in Portugal

My Favorite Packing Formula + An Undiscovered Shopping Tip

If you haven’t read my post on how to pack for a month, make sure you don’t miss it as I shared the ultimate trick to travel light yet stylish. In this post, I’m rounding up all the outfits worn during my summer road trip in Portugal (instead of posting them as separate solo fashion entries) because all the pictures related to this trip were taken by my iPhone 6s (the DSLR I brought had a good soak in my sturdy waterproof Longchamp bag when the water bottle cap tip opened unknowingly).

How this hot formula works is to pack 2 pairs of shorts with you. In my case, I chose a classic denim 501 Levi’s shorts & another plain white pair that can definitely marry any beautiful summer colors. Leave your long jeans at home & forget heavier, thicker fabrics. Bring at least 4 different tops to go with each shorts & you’d already have 8 different outfits! To add in the style factor, you’d have to play with the types of designs and materials your tops are made of. Have a look below to see mine (:

Whenever planning ahead in curating my suitcase content for the holidays, I usually find it easier to shop online. If there’s a piece you really want but discovered too late, your best bet is finding it at Zalora. A friend of mine said she bought most of her clothes from Lazada, which I’ve yet to try, but have definitely enjoyed massive discounts on bath products I buy on rotation.

All my looks below can be easily recreated. Under each picture, I’ve added a fashion takeaway to go with it.

Look 1: Something as simple as a cap & sunnies combo takes an otherwise casual outfit closer to ‘celeb level’.

Look 2: A classic varsity jacket never fails to add a cool vintage vibe to just any essential pieces put together.

Look 3: Floral bikinis (with a burst of spring vibes) are always more fun.

Look 4: Wear T-shirts with a fun statement (mine said ‘Hot Sauce’ facing the world). Make sure it’s not a long quote that no one can read in a glance!

Look 5: Buy tops that have a variety of colors on them so that the probability of matching them with other bottom pieces in your wardrobe increase in folds.

Look 6: Putting some effort into hairdo i.e. space buns can make just about any casual outfits even more FUN!

Look 7: A unique pair of shoes, like these ballerina-inspired ones, can elevate an ensemble from basic to amusing.

Look 8: Don’t be afraid to wear print on print. Especially if they are different prints.

Look 9: Every girl should hunt down at least 1 super interesting top!  This blouse has its sleeves on the waist instead of arms, can be worn with shorts to look like a dress, or paired with straight jeans as a top.

Look 10: The tip here is to match different materials & styles to bring together a uniformed look. i.e. I was wearing a sporty CK bralette underneath a feminine mesh top with embroidery.

Which is your favorite look? (;
