Here are 5 things that made my Chinese New Year.

1. This lion head

{because it gives the grandest welcome to our guests the very moment they step through our main door}

2. This mandarin orange

{because it takes away the grief of leaving (my hometown back to the city) by offering a happier journey on a juicier note}

3. This big hamper

{because it is the first time in my life that i won a lucky draw! (when i was young, after reading Roald Dahl’s Matilda, i used to think that i might have mental resources to get any lucky draws’ prizes with my mind if i focus hard enough, until proven wrong)}

4. This box of Ferrero Rocher

{because the packaging reminds me of a Chinese princess’s jewelry box when silk is discovered back in 2460BC }

5. These passion fruits from our garden

{because even though still green, i’m sure our orchard will look oh-so-pretty once they all ripen up}
