i pre-planned a|x’s birthday celebration half a year before the day arrived. if you think that’s exaggerated, it’s because the theme came to me instead of the other way round. If there’s one thing you don’t know about a|x, it is the fact that he loves chess. That’s right, chess! Now can you guess the theme for his birthday? 
Sometimes the simplest things could be the hardest to do. My initial plan was to get 32 mini cupcakes; each representing a chess piece as a|x’s birthday cake, invite all his friends over, and have them wear chess party hats. i called and visited 4 cupcake shops but none of them could deliver what was imprinted on my mind. At the very last minute, a brilliant idea came to light 
and this was what i did :
i sang him a birthday song and as he made a wish, i wished that his wish will come true. That night, we broke all the rules as we engaged on a chess game without checks, and the winner (of course it has to be the birthday boy), gets a gift :
i got him these lil’ chess cufflinks knowing that they are not just going to be ornaments because a|x really dresses up for work. Aren’t they oh-so-cute?
Just in case you’re wondering, there were no party hats on sexC spaniards’ heads because low-key-guy wanted to spend the romantic evening with only me.
