Everything Tigrrr!!!
2010
Happy CNY guys! I know some of you are back to work, but I haven’t! *jumps around in happiness* I’m so happy I could walk on water WTF.
Anyway, I have something very beautiful to share with you guys today.
I shall declare it to ya’ll later but before that! Let me start my “1st Day of CNY” post.
On the first day of CNY, I woke up to a lovely spread of food on the breakfast table. So much love~
Dad made some aromatic black coffee; Ol’ style~!
Mum prepared this entrée all by herself – Nasi Lemak with Popcorn Chicken and Rendang Sotong Terengganu + Golden Eggs…
These are not normal boiled eggs. They are called GOLDEN EGGS! Seriously. I don’t know how she did it, but got lah!
Had some Fatt Kueh (kuih apam) with freshly grated coconut side by side. (:
After loading up my stomach with food, it was time to get ready for the 1st bright shinning day of CNY.
Went to my room, played Creedence Clearwater Revival and danced around with my brother while putting on makeup. SO FUN!!!
Did the smokey eye to match my skimpyyy TIGRRR dress.
Paired it with a black glitter vest for a more refined touch. GRRRR~!
No matter how fun dancing was, Eu and I couldn’t help it when we smelt the balmy, dulcet aroma of the chiffon cake baking in the oven…
… so we ran downstairs like kids.
*DRUM ROLLS*
IT’S A TIGER CAKE!!! LITERALLY. CAN YOU SEE THE BROWN STRIPES ON THE CAKE?!?!
Mom even did cut outs of these cute lil’ tigers and decorate the chiffon cake with em’! Awww…. <3 <3 <3
The cake looked so dear I didn’t dare eat it.
My maid decorating the house with red ribbons.
We kept the coffee table away and tried something different so it is much more spacious now. ^^
Went to visit grandma and watched my cousins played with mini firecrackers.
It certainly reminded me of how naughty I was… LOL
Random: Somehow got stung by a big fat mozzie @ ama’s house on my left knee. =/
Then mom asked if we want some dessert. HELL YEAH~!
Was so touched to see what she took out from the fridge. She made this just for me – Can you read the note? It says, “4 Cindy, Strawberry agar2, No Sugar Added“.
Oh my… Has anyone did anything like this for you before?
So there you have it – Strawberry Jello for me!!! A biggg fat <3 for this dainty morsel, mom.
I ate half of the tray w/out any worries cuz “No Sugar was Added“, and then decided to act tigerish at the garden -_____-”
Loves the orangy red buds behind me – totally compliments my bright orange tube dress.
With a different species of delicate orange flowers and a cinful me threatening its fragility. LOL
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (?)
After playing in the garden for a while, it was time for dinner. The first dish we had was Leng Pua / Cold Plate.
In the pua (plate), there were :
Prawn Salad bathed in Thai Sauce,
Shark Fin Scramble Eggs with lotttssaaa Crab Meaattt,
Meatball Skewers Korean Style! ,
CRAB BALLS !!!!! ,
Put em’ all together and we have THIS. Brilliant!
That was not all. We also had :
Abalone Noodles Korean Style – like a fusion. So picturesque!
That still wasn’t all. I can’t believe my eyes when I saw this tray real dim sum restaurants use. I mean,
WE HAVE THAT AT HOME TOO?!?!?! :O
These buns are made to look like pig trotters; the yam sticks as their bones. You know, when you slice a pig’s leg, that’s how it kinda looks like? Ahahahhaha… XD
The buns and man tou were made to eat with this delicious Braised Pork Belly with Garlic.
Claypot Kampung Chicken Soup with Dua Chai.
So full we couldn’t even cmile propply. Ops… how do you spell smile again?? *cheeky*
At around midnight, it was time to pai pai.
Mom even MADE THESE for the Gods OMG. They really look like peach (pau) to me lorrr…
Burning money for the Gods via DHL – Deliver Halfway Lost. =/
Hopefully our trees grow angpows like this w/out needing to have :
My maid hanging em’ manually.
Main mercun.
It didn’t end there; my neighbours are obsessed with firecrackers = FREE SHOW.
Here’s a video of our midnight meriah-ness.
Caught a glimpse of this lovely sight where all ‘wish lanterns’ floated with unity to one direction; that’s our house. ^^
At the end of the day this post,
I think my mom deserves some credit and also, a big round of applause for creating / baking this wonderful, picturesque Tiger Chiffon Cake. So creative I couldn’t believe it!
More food posts to come, and a special one loaded with muah beekeenee pictures. Stay tuned~!
XO – Cin
