Hello from Kuala Terengganu!

Since I’ve been excessively playing with Curly & Benji, today I’m gonna blog about Carpet. Just to let her know she’s missed. (as if she’s gonna read this wtf)

How are you, Carpet???

Well dogs are playful, but hedgehogs can be playful too! In fact, they NEED to have a toy every now and then.

The first day I got Carpet, I gave her one of my fake apple deco.

She LOVES the stem very much. Very, very much indeed…

As I watched her biting the stem, suddenly she did something quite uncanny that horrified me. She started spitting & vomiting out brown gooey stuff!

Feared that she would die just like Crabster (my crab), I went online to read on hedgies and their toys. Now that I know better, I hope that my hedgie tale below would help us understand a lil bit more about hedgehogs.

Experiment: To find out what a hedgehog’s spit/vomit means.

Hypothesis: It is toxic and your hedgehog will die.

Prop: A toy fruit.

Give your hedgehog a toy fruit.

She will sniff it first.

IMG_0398

Bite it.

IMG_0404

Gnaw on it.

IMG_0405

Bite the part she loves MOST – the stem -__________-

IMG_0408

Turns around and spits on her body.

IMG_0400

All over her body.

IMG_0410

Lie on her back and show her belly. Vomits MORE brown gooey stuff on her spikes…. At this point, I thought she might die :

KONG!

But the truth is, hedgehogs only do that when they LOVE that particular toy; that’s why, they want to SMELL like that toy. Doesn’t that explains all the spitting / vomiting?  xD

So my hypothesis is proven wrong. Conclusion? Don’t confiscate your hedgehog’s toy the next time you see the fler does what mine did.

Will update again tomorrow – makeup post. ;)
