Happy Autumn Family

This is a story about my intercom. Or should I say, this is a story that’s inspired by or happened because of my intercom.

DSC08225

Spot the intercom? It’s a he and his name is Halo?

DSC08224

Halo? lives with his friends in this hall.

DSC08223

Everyday they stare at each other and they’re starting to get bored of how things look like. They told me one night (through a dream) that they need a change. Desperately.

So I figure, why not? And even before I could crack my head thinkin’ about where to get an interior designer for a reasonable price, Mr Blobby from Nippon Paint called me up! :D

Photo 119

He said that he has a great team of colorful friends that can help me make Halo?’s world a more beautiful place to live in!

Photo 120

So I browse through the menu and picked the color Orange Bedder 7063D. Why orange? Because Orange is a warm friendly color that promotes a chattier atmosphere in a space. And I totally want that for my suite!

Photo 122

There are also a few designs to choose from for the walls.

How I do it?

DSC08511

1. Cut out the shape you want on a cardboard / magazine cover like me (RECYCLE PEOPLE!!!) in 3 basic sizes – S, M, L.

DSC08512

2. Stick double-face-tape along the edges of the cut out shapes.

DSC08515

3. FACE-OFF the fella.

DSC08516

4. Stick masking tape (STICKY SIDE UP) on the now sticky faced-off area.

DSC08517

5. Trim away the extra tapes like crusting a pie.

DSC08716

6. Stick it on the wall where you want it to be placed!

DSC08717

7. Add the stem using a thin masking tape.

DSC08671

8. I added a few small “stemless” cut outs flying around too~

DSC08719

9. Get the painter to come! Or if you enjoy painting, D.I.Y with your boy/girlfriend – that should be fun.

DSC08720

10. Wait for the paint to dry

DSC08772

11. Use a knife to do the above. You can’t just main peel because there’s a coat of paint over the cut-outs now.

DSC08770

12. Slowly peel the cut-offs – don’t get over excited or you might just peel the paint as well!!!

DSC08771

13. It will look something like this. ^o^

Now Halo? is a very happy intercom! He is proven to be chattier too; because he keeps ringing lately = More guests coming to see my *new* hall! :D :D :D

teycindy.com2

I name this area the Happy Autumn Family~ ^_^

Don’t you feel like its warmer and more inviting now; compared to the plain white walls? (:

Today, answering the intercom has never been more pleasant and fun.

Halo? and I would really love to thank Mr Blobby and his friends from Nippon Paint for realizing this dream for us.

Happy Autumn Family would never have made it without the paint and design ideas. <3!
