Many have been asking me what I do for a living.
When I was blogging at www.jadezheng.com, I would say “I am a full time blogger”.
But when my domain expired and for some weird, weird reasons that caused its permanent loss, I realized that blogging can earn you money, but at the end of the day, you need a real job.
Cuz you never know when the blogging hype dies down, or if companies out there just don’t wanna use bloggers anymore because the economy is bad, or if….. You know?
Therefor, I’ve decided that all the money I earned from blogging will be for _______? Traveling! Yay~ Sounds like a good plan.
If everything goes as plan, I would love to save a lump sum for my parents to go somewhere they won’t wanna spend their money on. XD
Having all that said, let me share with you what I do.
* * *
The company I’m working with today is very interesting. We hold the licenses for Japanese cartoon characters like Doraemon, Crayon Shin Chan, Chibi Maruko Chan, and many others.
Mainly, we do Doraemon because he is so famous today, the ambassador of Japan! =O

There’s a Dokodemo door in our office. Or more well-known among us Malaysians as Pintu Suka Hati.
Well, it you wonder where it leads to, it takes you to the :
Store. Reality sure is bitter, guys~
But it is not so wrong to dream once in a while. If it makes you happy, why not??
Doraemon’s tag line should be “You can be happy even if you’re blue!” Get the pun? LOL
* * *
My role is to handle the Doraemon events and to make sure our friend here looks his best. For example,
His whiskers must be straight.
Make sure no rat bit off his TAIL (originally Doraemon has ears but a rat bit em’ off he became so sad he turned blue; it’s true!)
If you have never seen how a Doraemon looks like in real life, this is it. XD

Fill up some announcements when the emcee goes missing -__________-”
The group who makes the whole thing comes true for kids.
When there is no event, what I do is to come out with proposals that are enriched with ideas and fun activities, tailored to suit different clients such as Sunway Lagoon, Toyota, F&N, bla bla bla~
Just like writing blogging advertorials, but in Power Point.
You see, from 9 – 6 I “do” ads for clients in the office, from 8 – midnight I write ads / blog at home… I guess it is my destiny to serve clients by helping them boost their sales & awareness using my creativity.
And oh hey! I found a picture you might never see to prove you that Doraemon was once yellow WITH ears!! :
The original Doraemon. Hehe!! So do you like it better yellow or blue?

It’s very interesting to know that you have this as your job. Have not really seen any Doraemon’s event in Malaysia since I was ever born. I’m not a great fan but think my boy likes it. Any events coming up? Got mega discount like Kenny says? Or even FREE tickets hehe:-) (Malaysians like free things ma, don’t be mad ya)
Hi Melvin, we are having a Doraemon CNY event on the 29 – 31st of Jan and 5 – 7th of February @ the Mines from 12 – 7pm! mayb u can bring your boy there?
