One fine Saturday morning, I went for a very special workshop by Nippon Paint. As usual, I was a bit late but still taken in warmly with open hands by many of your all-time favourite bloggers.

I sat with Red Mummy & Sixth Seal in the same row at the front. We’re very eager and excited about the workshop because it’s about colors and creativity! Something very different.

Gladys and Ms Wong Meng Lee gave a short speech and explained about how Nippon Paint came out with orange and black as the colours for their company’s uniform.

Apparently, orange is the friendliest color of all! It promotes a chattier aura while black balances the warmness out by giving it a more stern touch.

Has everyone seen Nippon Paint’s Blobby ad? It is one of those ads I’ve always thought as brilliant!

Today I’m going to share with you what I learned in the workshop. Whether you like it or not, I am pretty sure there will come a point where you find this information useful.

Perhaps when you are gonna move in with your boy or girlfriend? It is important to set the right mood for your room home. (righttt Red Mummy? Kalo tak macam mane nak dapat anak tiga!) hahaha…

Let’s start with the colour wheel. As you can see, there’s a clear dotted line dividing the warm and cool colors.

If you stare at the walls for hours wondering where to start, try considering the above. Observe each words and run your imagination wild~! There’s no right or wrong when it comes to creativity. That’s the best thing about art.

Below are a few colors I like, therefor chose to share with you the meaning they transcend.

Generally for the guys, I believe this is your color:

BLUE is suitable for more personal spaces like your study room or crib because it promotes intelligence and serenity; giving you a peaceful piece of mind when you’re alone.

Do not use this in your living hall! The last thing you want is to have your guests staring at each other’s glasses thinking about their exes!

More often than not, PINK is the colour for girls. I’ve always thought that pink is my color as it is my favourite. However, when I read the +’ve and -’ve traits of it… I quit. I found out that I am more of a:

DSC08078

RED. When my eyes run through each of these words, I felt as if RED is a star sign on its own – like a Scorpio for instance.

Passion, defiance, excitement, aggression… LOL! My Nissan Latio is red too. ^^

However, I don’t like red to the extent of buying or making anything red. It makes one tired looking at it for too long. According to Gladys, if you blind fold a sensitive person’s eyes and put her in two rooms – 1 red & 1 blue at a time, this person can actually tell!

So I’ve decided to use the following colour for my new blog design:

DSC08076

PURPLE. To me, even the -’ve traits of purple don’t sound too bad! It is also a very royal and luxurious colour.

Painting a wall is like putting makeup on a girl’s face. There are 3 basic steps:

DSC08083

#1 is equivalent to applying primer before anything else or your makeup would fade away~!

#2 is the foundation.

#3 equals to the colours you apply such as the eyeshadows, blusher and lipstick.

Once again, if you’re cracking your head thinking about WHERE to START, use this chart guide.

Some people love designs on their walls. Therefor, we have wallpapers. Wallpapers are great. However, that’s only if you live in the UK. With Malaysia’s climate, wallpapers most prolly start to peel after a couple of years and that’s when you start to buy Panadols.

Why don’t you try something like this? :

Originally, this is just a plain white wall with a red sofa and some average looking drawers on the left. However, just by adding a PAINTED TREE on it will make everyone remember your house as “nehhh… the house with the tree!” xD

If you get D in art class then do forget about the naked tree. Try using sponges and create tulips like this Step-by-Step guideline instead!

Now. The getting our hands dirrrttyyy part:

We were given an ample amount of Nippon Paint for this workshop. I mean, LOOK!!!
