Cobra Eggplant
2009
Today’s makeup tutorial is about how to bring out the green in your eyes. There are many styles- like bringing out the blue, hazel, brown, and purple of the eyes. I learned this makeup style from a makeup pharmacy in Australia (maybe cuz angmohs have the advantage of inheriting colored pupils genes).
Here’s a tip. If you’re gonna experiment using colored tones on your eyelids, the MOST important thing is to make sure you have a flawless, even skin tone; or you’d look ‘dirty’ and messy.

I received an Anna Sui’s Moisture Rich Fluid foundation and their Lip Stick B, so now, I’m gonna try it out with you. (:

I prefer using my finger tips as they run thru your skin faster and reach out for every area of your face easily. You can of course use your favourite brush, but make sure you always keep your tools clean. I strongly do not recommend brushes for lazy people.
As for sponges, I tried using them a couple of times but they seem to absorb all my foundation even before I could apply it onto my face!

I personally pump my foundation lil by lil, completing each part of the face one at a time (to avoid wastage).
As you can see, I am quite ‘trifty’ when it comes to using my makeup products. However, there is another part of your body you can’t (exactly) leave naked – the neck.
DO apply foudation on your ang kun so that you don’t look like you are wearing a powderful mask! A lot of girls neglect this, I know. If you are afraid that the foundation might stain your white top, at least apply some foundation along the jawline.

Dust some loose powder. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE and SETS IN your makeup so that your blusher, eyeshadow, liner and brows don’t ‘slip away’ thruout the day! (OMG wouldn’t that be scary?)
Since I’m using Anna Sui’s product for the first time, I’m going to use some purple in my makeup style today.
Here comes the “Cobra Eggplant” eyeshadow section:
1. Get yourself a green eyeshadow (of any shades).
I’m using a shimmering kinda green because it is my 19th years old birthday present. LOL – don’t be afraid to buy colored tones eyeshadows because they DO last REAL long; or I’d already buy a dark forest green shadow for that ‘fairy effect’.

Dust it over the lid, and bottom inner corner of the eye. Don’t have to be sooo berwas-was about the green powder spilling over your face, as the whole look will be refined later on.
2. You’ll need a purple eggplant eyeshadow.

Draw it ON the cease of the lids and also the rest of the bottom line without the green.

Try to blend the green & purple using a small shadow brush tip. Good makeup means good blending. You shouldn’t look like your face was being drawn or lined out.
After completing the eggplant part, let’s make it more COBRA by giving your eyes nicely curved liquid eye liner lines. Don’t use kohl pencil for this look.
4. Mascara

Brush on ONE coat of mascara, or up to THREE if you don’t wanna use falsies.
5. False Lashes.

I’m using false lashes for more dramatic effect.
6. Blusher.

Smile and dust on some coral blusher to the apple of your cheeks. (:
7. Lip Stick B!

Trying on Anna Sui’s lovely creation…

It has a very pleasant shimmery pink effect on the lips and glides very smoothly. NICE~!
Before falsies.

After falsies.

Put on a dress with a dash of purple to compliment the sexxxcc eggplant hint in your eyes… LOL

Pair it with a purple cardigan for a more daring and edgy look – who knows you might wanna go to the cinema & it gets freeeeezzzzingggg in there!

But remember folks; to do ALL this, you need to achieve the flawless face look first; which is before the Cobra Eggplant shadow tutorial starts.
I strongly recommend Anna Sui’s Moisture Rich Fluid Foundation; especially for those who has dry skin because you want your skin to ‘eat’ the makeup, not look flaky thus emphasizing the lines of your face.
Till then, tell me if your Cobra Eggplant makeup works out! Take a picture of yourself after following this tutorial, and send it your picture / post URL to teycindy@gmail.com
The girl (or boy!) with the BEST picture will win a bottle of Anna Sui foundation (B01) worth RM134. ^^
Good luck!

There’s a way to prevent your make up sponge from absorbing all your foundation before you apply anything. Soak your sponge with water. =)Try it and good luck.
