Another post from Shanghai. Hope you remember where i last signed off. (:

So the next day, we went to a Feng Shui place where the FS, or perhaps BS Master, told us about our predicted future by scribbling some Chinese words which read mammals – 3 tigers and a goat on paper.

To believe it or not… I would say, “Fine, I’ll just buy the goddamn crystal dragon that could so protect my fucking life.”

There he was – standing there pretending to look classy and demure. The man wearing white with a red Christmas tie. Very sexc. Not to forget, his balding head is as shiny as the hanging spotlights.

That place was boring like a dry bone of a dodol. Didn’t like it. We went to Chong Huang Street.

Red lanterns everywhere, all above you…

The famous bridge as the tourists’ top picture spot…

According to our tour guide, China is busy preparing for this 2010 expo. Say “Hi” to Mr Blue Tooth!

In search for the BEST xiao long pau in Shanghai…..

DSC05232

We finally found it.

DSC05230

And you’ve gotta be sure as hell this counter lady is a total bitch. Not welcoming at all to her customers. Look at how her eyebrows arched! And that sulky pout… URGH it makes my guts sick.

DSC05243

We waited for almost 40 minutes to get this seat. 4o MINUTES i repeat; was only the minimum time spent queuing and watching people dig their noses.

DSC05234

I’m mean it! Each time I slowly panned my camera at this random old man, he pretended to look somewhere; and as i panned away, he became a gold digga’ once again. What the eff.

DSC05250

That sure is a LOT of trays for a pau shop, but the “now you see them, now you don’t” rule applies here. People -tourists or locals, ordered at least 8 trays per table, and ate like they’d never eaten for yearsss! When they got to the end, they just dug the meat balls out and threw their skins back into the tray.

I smelt the word “kiasu” in the air, not steamed meat paus.

DSC05251

They look pretty average. But certainly is the best tasting xiao long pau in China. However, don’t feel like you missed anything. The ones in Dragon-i are wayyyyyy much better. TRUST ME.

DSC05252

If only I wasn’t wearing makeup, this could be a free facial treatment. Haha!!

DSC05253

Free shredded egg omelet soup with dried shrimps. Tastes nice, but I’m pretty sure you can cook that yourself too.

DSC05254

Check out this queue. Apparently there are THREE xiao long pau shops. The one that we went to was the average priced one. Decent, a place to seat, meat paus.

Then there’s the high class pau restaurant. The ones stuffed with abalones, shark fins, and all that inappropriate paste shit for a delicacy called xiao long pau, I suppose.

While this picture above, is a pau shop stall. With no place to seat, cheaper paus and, with the longest queue.

DSC05258

Spotted: Giant paus with straws. Interesting… ACK!

DSC05263

Time for some dessert! :D

DSC05261

Smooootthhhhh gladiatorrr glutinous sesame balls in ginger soup.

DSC05262

Unfortunately, we felt too full for dim sum. 15 years later, morsels!

DSC05256

Tried a few kuehs while window shopping for souvenirs.

DSC05268

And dad thought this would be a good idea.

DSC05269

FRIED CURRY CRABS!!! (hard shell but deep fried till soft shelled) How AWESOME! Crispy, crunchy, spicy & tasty. *drools*

DSC05271

On our way for lunch. (I know, this is crazy…) Saw a row of policemen cars under a flyover. I wonder if the cops here are as effective as NYC’s.

Lunch was boring. So I took pictures of my hair extensions. First draft. (I went back to add-on more strands l8r that night.)

Welcome to my World.

Next post, would be very interesting I promise. It’s about something bitter and sad, but touching, and sealed with love in the end.

About my brother.

Till then,
